lucille 2Lucille Mary Anna DeHerrera, 70, formerly of Silver City, passed away in Albuquerque. A Graveside Service will be held at the Hurley Cemetery in Hurley on  Monday, Sept. 28, at 10 a.m. Lucille is survived by four brothers, Eloy DeHerrera, Ray DeHerrera, Chris DeHerrera, and Raul Gonzales; and nine sisters, Janet Sanchez, Roberta Smith, Vickie Clark, Mary DeHerrera, Yolanda Yanguez, Della Marta, Tracy DeHerrera, Bo Smith, and Melissa Burns. She was preceded in death by her father, Eloy DeHerrera;  and brother and sisters, Francine Velarde, Margaret DeHerrera, and Robert DeHerrera.

Lucille is survived by her mother, Rose Velarde; one daughter, Veronica Trujillo; three sons, Johnny Trujillo, Steven Trujillo, and Tommy Rueda; grandchildren, Felicia, Amanda, Ricky, Marky, Denisha, Roselyn, Milagro, Estevan, Ariana, Steven Jr., Tommy III, Ean, and Larissa; and 12 great-grandchildren. Lucille attended Western New Mexico University and received a criminal justice degree. Lucille once owned a flower shop in Silver City named Lucille’s Crafts. She enjoyed cooking at functions in her travel concession stand. She was always ready to assist anyone who needed help, no matter the circumstances. Lucille was a hard worker and loved to do carpentry and tile and loved painting. She will greatly be missed by all who knew her. Bright Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements, “A Loving and Caring Place to Celebrate, Honor, and Remember a Life Lived,” 210 W.
