bencomo copyAntonio V. Bencomo, 86, of Silver City passed away Thursday, October 29, 2020 at his home surrounded by his family.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, November 4, 2020 from 5 to 6pm at Baca’s Funeral Chapels where the recitation of the Holy Rosary will follow at 6pm.  The Funeral Liturgy will be at 10am on Thursday, November 5, 2020 at St. Francis Newman Center Parish.  The Rite of Committal and burial will follow at St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Cemetery.  Officiating will be Father Bartholomew Ezenwelem.  Serving as casket bearers will be Nathan Trujillo, Ryan Bencomo, Anthony Bencomo, Jr, Angel Bencomo, Ramon Montes, and Freddie Marquez.  Honorary bearer will be David Deitchman, Sammy Bencomo, Jr, Archie Murillo, Teddy Martinez, Jacob Trujillo, Frank Gonzales, Robert Bencomo and Benny Bencomo.

“Tony,” as he was affectionately known, was born November 16, 1933 in Pinos Altos to Anastacio and Rita Vallejos Bencomo.  He worked and retired from Chino Mines as a crane operator and a mill wright.  Tony enjoyed watching any sport, an avid die-hard boxing fan and playing the guitar.  He was very active in the Catholic Church as a crusillista and a Eucharistic minister. Tony was a humble man and always took the time to pray with others that were in much need.  His  greatest joy was spending time with his family who will miss him dearly.

He is survived by three sons, Rudy R Bencomo (Frances), Freddy R. Bencomo, and Anthony R. Bencomo (Denise); one daughter, Amy L. Bencomo; one brother, Joseph Bencomo; seven grandchildren, Christine, Desirae, Ryan,  Anthony Jr., and Angel Vincent Bencomo, Nathan and Jacob Trujillo; nine great grandchildren, Brielle Bencomo, Alex Rodriguez, Ryan Bencomo Jr., Madison Arvizu, Damian Arvizu, Kenny Figueroa, Jordan Figueroa, Ledger Trujillo, and Damian Trujillo  Tony was preceded in death by his wife Ursella in 2006, three brothers, Domingo, Bobby and Robert and two sisters, Bernarda Martinez and Antonia Martinez.
