Teddy M. Castillo, 56, of Silver City passed away Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at his home surrounded by his family. 

Cremation has been entrusted to Baca’s Funeral Chapels. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be at 10:00 am on Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at St. Francis Newman Center Parish. The Funeral Liturgy will follow at 10:30 am. Officiating will be Father Bartholomew Ezenwelem. Concluding service and burial will follow at a later date at Fort Bayard National Cemetery.

“Little Teddy” as he was fondly known, was born September 10, 1964 in Bakersfield, CA to Natividad and Antonia Castillo.  He grew up in Silver City and graduated from Silver High School. Teddy served his country honorably in the United States Army.  Upon his return Teddy served as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Fort Bayard Medical Center. He was also a devote Catholic and a member of the Crucillistas.

Teddy is survived by his mother Antonia; his brother, Melvin and his wife, Lorraine; nieces, Serena and Gabriela Castillo; aunt, Yolanda Morales and her wife, Arlene; and a cousin Samantha Morales. Also surviving Teddy are all his many friends and his beloved pet dog “Gunner”. Teddy was preceded in death by his father, Natividad “Teddy Sr.” and a nephew, Joseph Castillo.
