Albert Ludlow Stephens Sr., 81, a resident of Carlsbad, NM entered eternal rest Friday, September 3, 2021 at NM State Veteran’s Home in Truth or Consequences, NM. He was born January 11,1940 in Atoka, OK to Paul H. Stephens and Goldie M. Barris.

Albert was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He was inducted into the UA Local 412 Plumbers and Pipe Fitters Union on January 9, 1959 where he continued to serve for 62 years up to his passing. He then joined the United States Air Force in January 1962 and became a Jet Aircraft Mechanic specialist; he served 4 years active duty and 2 years reserves. After returning from the Air Force he met his love Sharon Estes in Silver City at the Bowling Alley; they were married on May 31,1969.

They later made a home in Farmington, NM where he continued to work for the Pipe Fitters union. Albert retired in 1997 due to medical issues that kept him from continuing to work.  Albert enjoyed bowling and participated in several bowling leagues throughout the years. Albert had a love of classic cars and could tell you what car was at first glance. His favorite sports were football and baseball, the Green Bay Packers was his team; but he enjoyed rooting for anyone that played against the Dallas Cowboys. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and passed that love on to his kids and grandkids. In his later years he enjoyed the time spent with his grandkids, enjoyed playing card games and dominos with the family. He will be greatly missed by his family.

Visitation will be Friday, September 17 from 11:30-12:30pm at Terrazas Funeral Chapels with the funeral service to commence at 12:30pm with Reverend Kenneth Smith officiating. Concluding service interment will follow at Fort Bayard National Cemetery with full military honors.
