geraldinequintanaGeraldine J. Quintana, 73, a resident of Silver City, New Mexico entered eternal rest on Thursday, September 2, 2021.

She was born on Tuesday, December 16, 1947, in Silver City, New Mexico to Fred M. Greenwood and Stella I. Cothrun, both of whom have preceded her in death. She was married to Mario Quintana from 1966-1992. Geraldine was a long-time employee of Albertsons, having worked at the grocery company in the bakery until her retirement.

A devoted mother, Geraldine poured her heart into raising her family. To her, being a mom meant family first and she committed her life to taking care of family.

She was extremely proud of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, and in return, they loved and admired their Nana for all the love that she gave. 

geraldinequintana2Geraldine was a very caring and loving person, always putting the needs and well-being of others before her own. She was truly a mom to everyone offering help to anyone who needed it. She carried herself with such strength and honor never passing judgment on others. 

As an animal lover, Geraldine was a faithful supporter of the local animal shelters. She also loved to cook, plant flowers in her yard and listen to Elvis Presley. She took pleasure in the simple things enjoying her Coke, popcorn, glazed donuts, and sweet tea, and who could forget her red toenail polish. 

Geraldine is survived by her four children; her son, Wayne Quintana and wife Rachel of Safford, AZ; her three daughters, Tammy Grado and husband Gilbert Jr. of The Woodlands, TX; Tiffany Kuester and husband Derek of Silver City; Tonya Quintana and companion Gabe Jacquez of Silver City. She was preceded in death by her brother, Bobby Williams.  She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

A Funeral Service will be celebrated on Thursday, September 16 at 10am at Terrazas Funeral Chapels with Pastor Joseph Gros officiating.  Concluding service and interment will take place at Memory Lane cemetery. Pallbearers: Derek Kuester, Josh Kuester, Scott Kuester, Gilbert Grado, Johnny Bynum, Jason Quintana. In lieu of flowers, family requests donations be made to any animal shelter of your choice.
