donjensenDonald “Don” L. Jensen, 64, a resident of Silver City, NM entered eternal rest Friday, September 24, 2021 at his residence.  He was born April 15, 1957 in Newport Beach, CA to Donald Jensen Sr. and Mary Jane Reagan.  

Don Jensen was born the fifth of six children and grew up in Arizona working in the family motel business. After graduating from Ajo High School he spent two years working at his dad’s welding shop in Hawaii. Don returned to Ajo and worked as a ball mill operator for Phelps Dodge for six years. Don fell in love with Maggie, and they married in 1983. In 1984 Don moved to Tucson and started college. He graduated from the University of Arizona in 1989 with a degree in Material Science Engineering with an emphasis in metallurgy.

Don worked in mills in Nevada, Arizona and New Mexico and he was pleased to retire after thirty-two years. He was pure to the process and always a hard rock miner! Don will always be remembered for his sense of humor especially when he was teaching someone something new. He loved his motorcycles, loud music and telling stories. He was a family man and was proud to watch his children Donald, DeeAnn and Sarah grow up and make good choices. Don will be missed by many

He is survived by his wife, Margaret “Maggie” Jensen of Morenci, AZ; one son, Donald Jensen III and wife Selena of Morenci, AZ; two daughters, Dee Ann Jensen and companion Damian Guck of Morenci; Sarah Jensen and fiancé Paul Montoya of Morenci, AZ; two grandchildren, Donald “Llewie” Jensen IV, and Suzette Rose Jensen; one brother, Mardi Dauphine and wife Diane of Poway, CA; two sisters, Mary Dauphine of CA., and Janet Rodriguez and husband  Manuel of Ahwatukee, AZ; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Regan and Richard Dauphine.

Visitation will be Friday, October 1 from 5-6pm at Terrazas Funeral Chapels with the prayer vigil/holy rosary being recited by Dr. Gilbert Arizaga to commence at 6pm. The funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, October 2 at 10am at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church with Father Oliver Obele officiating. Concluding service and interment will follow at Memory Lane cemetery. Pallbearers are Donald Jensen III, Paul Montoya, Damian Guck, Rod Rodriguez, Tomas Rodriguez, Jarret Yargus, Bill Leckliter, and Brian Garrity.
