Charles William Hoyt, 64, a resident of Arenas Valley, NM entered eternal rest Thursday, October 21, 2021 at La Posada Hospice in Las Cruces, NM. He was born January 12, 1957 in East Liverpool, Ohio to Charles Austin Hoyt and Wilma Lee Willis.

He grew up in Ohio until the age of 6yrs. old. Then moved to Green Acres City, FL, with his mother and step-father until he joined the U.S. Army on April 30, 1994. Charles did his basic training at Fork Polk, LA. His duty stations were Fort Hood, TX, Crailsheim (West) Germany, Fort Lewis, Washington, Wiesbaden (West) Germany, Marheim (West) Germany, Fort Carson, CO and finally University of Wyoming as an ROTC instructor.

After retirement, Charlie lived in Laramie, Wyoming and did other types of jobs.  He tanned hides as a taxidermy, custodian of Albany County Schools and at the University of Wyoming. In 1999 Charles decided to follow a dream of driving Semi trucks over the road. In 2006, Charles worked on pipelines driving a semi-truck working for various companies. After that, Charles returned over the road driving until he retired December 2018, He moved with his wife to Arenas Valley, NM where he lived until his departure. Charles loved his family and friends very much and likewise.

He is survived by his loving wife Judy Hoyt of the family home; two sons, Charlie Hoyt of Laramie, WY; Joshua Hoyt of Arenas Valley; one daughter, Samantha Martinez of Arenas Valley; five grandchildren, Sydney, Paul, Viva, Christian, and Piper; two brothers, Paul Hoyt of Salineville, OH, Danny Hoyt of Pittsburgh, PA; three sisters, Jenny Nolty and husband Paul of Salineville, OH; Sue Ann Ketchem and husband Al of Salineville, OH; Tracy Amedio and husband Kevin of NC. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Nancy Day and Lisa Hoyt.

Memorial service will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 27 at 12:30pm at Terrazas Funeral Chapels with Pastor Joseph Gros officiating. Concluding service and inurnment will take place at Fort Bayard National Cemetery with full military honors.
