williammccauleyWilliam (Bill) Arthur McCauley, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend entered eternal rest Sunday, November 28, 2021. Bill was born in Silver City, NM and raised on the Tom McCauley & Son ranch in Cliff, NM.

He married the love of his life Terri Barnwell on September 10, 1977. He was a hard worker, whether it be at the ranch or on a bulldozer. His tireless work ethic is reflected in the countless projects he helped develop. In March of 1984 Bill was employed by Phelps Dodge as a truck laborer and by May of the same year promoted to bulldozer operator. On February 15, 1991 he was promoted to Assistant Shift Supervisor by Phelps Dodge Morenci, Inc.

Any person that met him became an instant friend. Bill had an incredible knack for storytelling. He will be greatly missed by all who have known him. He will be missed by his hunting buddies that he spent countless hunting seasons with him at his favorite place, Ash Creek. Bill is survived by his loving wife, Terri McCauley of the family home; three sons, Fred McCauley and companion Heather of Albuquerque; Shawn McCauley and wife Dawna of Cliff; Terrence McCauley of Cliff; one daughter, Brandi McCauley of Cliff; seven grandchildren, Fawna, Augusta, Kabe, Tamzin, William, Bentley, and Brooke (all McCauley); one brother, Glen McCauley of Silver City; one sister, Jackie Condon and companion Mike Norris of Cliff; special cousin, Rusty McCauley; special ex-daughter in-law, Brittany Hathaway and special son, Koda (Lacy) Matthews and family; his special friend, Al Story; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Lavern and Fred McCauley; his grandparents, Tom and Marie McCauley; one brother, Jimmy Cobb.

A graveside service will be celebrated Saturday, December 11 at 10am at the family home 445 McCauley Rd. Cliff, NM. with Pastor David Goble officiating. Pot luck gathering will follow at the Cliff fairgrounds County building. Pallbearers are Steve and Mike Barnwell, David Norris, Rusty McCauley, Mike Norris, and Robert McCauley. Honorary pallbearers David Strange,  Jeremy Killough, and Billy Ray McCauley.
