Henry A. Atencio, 81, entered eternal rest on Monday 16, 2022 at Fort Bayard Medical Center. He was born April 14, 1941 in Santa Clara to Salvador Atencio and Paula Leyba.

Henry was an avid hunter and loved camping in the Gila Wilderness. He also was accomplished in Native American art, such as Kachinas, drawings and painting.

He is survived by his son, Henry Atencio Jr. and wife Janet of Tucson, AZ; his companion, Sybil Paradiso of the family home; one daughter, JoAnn Atencio of Tucson, AZ; four grandsons, Justin, Mathias, Marquise, and Andrew; one granddaughter, Amber; two great grandsons, Mathias Jr. and Michael Atencio; two brothers, Patricio Atencio and companion April of Tucson, AZ; Lawrence Atencio of Santa Clara; several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Yvette Atencio (Baby); one brother, Jesse Atencio.

The prayer vigil/rosary will take place Friday, May 20 at 1pm at Terrazas Funeral Chapels with Deacon Richard Rodriguez reciting.
