Izrael “Izzy” Jamez Rodriguez, 6, a child of Silver City, NM, unexpectedly entered eternal rest on Monday, October 3, 2022 at Gila Regional Medical Center in Silver City, NM. Izzy was born on August 19, 2016 in Silver City, NM to his parents Tony Rodriguez and Maria Legarda. Izzy was a 1st grade student at G.W. Stout in Mrs. Jackson’s class. Izzy had a love for all animals. He loved playing video games such as Minecraft on his phone and his Nintendo Switch. Izzy loved watching videos on YouTube and he loved watching movies with his mom. Izzy had a love for the color red, for stuffed animals and his nerf gun collection. Izzy learned how to swim this past summer and he could hardly wait for next summer to move to level 3.

He is survived by his parents, his three brothers, Ivan Legarda of Las Cruces, NM, Miguel Rodriguez of Albuquerque, NM, and Matthew Rodriguez of Albuquerque, NM; his two sisters, Jenesis Rodriguez of Safford, AZ and Camila Rodriguez of Safford, AZ; his Maternal grandma, Irene Legarda; his Paternal grandma, Corina Rodriguez (Gilbert); his Maternal grandpa, Frankie Legarda; his aunts Naomi Legarda, Stephanie Garcia (Raul), Katrina Rodriguez (Luis); his uncles, Frankie Legarda (Emily), Maria and Victor Rodriguez; his cousins, Shane and Justine Spears (who were like his siblings), Azelia Cortez, and Marianna, Eizabel and Raul Garcia, Victoria and Esperanza Mendoza; his best friend Izaiden Vasquez; his three furry siblings, Prince Jr.(cat), Ryan (chihuahua), and Nilla (husky), who were his world; Izzy is survived by numerous great aunts and uncles, cousins from New Mexico, Arizona, Utah, and California. Izzy was Preceded in death by his great grandparents Helen and Rito Placencio and his Grandpa Victor Rodriguez.

The Visitation is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, October 12 from 9:00am to 10:00am at Terrazas Funeral Chapels. The Prayer Vigil and most Holy Rosary will commence at 10:00am, recited by Deacon Bill Holguin. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:30am at St. Francis Newman Center Church with Father Bartholomew Ezenwelem officiating. Concluding the mass, an interment will follow at St. Vincent Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers are Frankie Legarda, Shane Spears, Miguel Rodriguez, Matthew Rodriguez, Mario Rodriguez and Victor Rodriguez.
