Mary Ann Gomez was born September 28, 1960 in Lordsburg to Miguel and Maria Moreno. She worked within the Lordsburg municipal school district and Lordsburg City Hall for many years. Mary Ann was blessed with a loving family. She married her best friend and high school sweetheart, David Gomez on October 4, 1980.

Over the years she became known for her kind heart and contagious smile. She spent most of her free time riding around town on her motorcycle with her husband. Mary Ann also enjoyed gardening, camping, baking and most of all spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She is remembered as being a selfless, loving person and her grandchildren being her whole world.

She is survived by her loving husband David of the family home; one son, David Gomez Jr. and wife Jessica of Lordsburg; one daughter, Leigh Ann Chavez and husband Benjamin of Las Cruces, NM; six grandchildren, Micayla Hosang (Davian), Averie, Hailio, and “Caius” Chavez, Rylee Gomez, and Travis Gomez; one great grandchild, Carter Hosang; numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Anita Burwell and Abby Allen.

Visitation will be Friday, January 27 from 9:30-10am at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. The holy rosary will commence at 10am with Sonia Estrada reciting.  The funeral mass will follow at 11:00am at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Father Prakasham Babu officiating. Pallbearers are Davian Hosang, Hailio Chavez, Caius Chavez, Jeremiah Tecca, Anthony Madrid, and Louie Gomez. Concluding service cremation will take place at Terrazas Crematory.
