alvarado copyOn Sunday, January 22, 2023, Margaret Ryan Alvarado loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt passed away at the age of 90. She was a bookkeeper and served for four years as the assessor for Grant County, NM. After retiring she became a catechism and confirmation teacher. She also spent a lot of her time volunteering at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. She also loved to spend her time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was also very talented at knitting and various other crafts. Her creativity will always be appreciated by many! She was very active and enjoyed attending exercising classes. Her favorite teams were the Miami Dolphins and the New York Yankees, but most of all she was her grandchildren and great grandchildren’s biggest fan. She never missed a game or practice, and was always very proud no matter if they won or lost. She was truly loved and will be missed by all of her family and friends.  

She is survived by one daughter, Cecilia Alvarado of Bayard; four grandchildren, Joseph Lozano, Jason Lozano Sr., Royce Cuevas, and Cheyenne Cuevas; ten great grandchildren, Daviana, J.C., Jade, Royce Jr., Mishae, Jadelynn, Jaycob, Jala, Cerina, and Zoey; one brother, Tommy Ryan of Silver City. She was preceded in death by her husband, Genaro Medina Alvarado; her parents, William and Cecilia F. Ryan; her son, Joseph Michael Alvarado, and her  brother, John Patrick Ryan.

The holy rosary will be recited by Dr. Gilbert Arizaga on Thursday, February 2 at 10am at Our Lady of Fatima Church.  Memorial mass will commence at 11am with Father Martin Okonkwo officiating. Concluding service and inurnment will follow at St. Vincent Catholic Cemetery.
