Nancy Louise Ellis was a beloved grandmother, mother, and wife during her incredible 87 years of life.

She passed away peacefully in the late evening hours of Tuesday, May 16, 2023.

Nancy is survived by her son Jimmy Lee Ellis, former daughter-in-law Gigi, four grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. John (wife Juli, son Chandler); Leslie, (son Chandler); Kristen; and Nathan (wife Sara, children Adeline and August), and an extended family of friends and relatives too numerous to list but not forgotten. Nancy is reunited with the love of her life, her husband, Melvin Wesley Ellis and is preceded in death by two siblings.

Nancy’s love for her family was unmatched, she doted on us, giving haircuts in the kitchen, sneaking snacks to her grandkids hiding under the table and making sure we all had a hot home-cooked meal when we arrived to visit no matter what time of day it was.

We couldn’t spend a minute with her without her telling us how much she loved us. It is hard to make a list of the memories we cherish the most, she molded our hearts to accept, feel and learn the actions of love.

We will cherish every moment we had with her, remembering her playful spirit, her incredible laugh and getting whipped at dominoes and rummy. We will be forever grateful to have called her ours, for her unwavering faith in the power of God and her continuous prayers for our safety and wellbeing. We are encouraged by knowing that she is with our Lord and Savior, her forever home, safe and wrapped in love.

A memorial service is not immediately planned. The family will notify loved ones in the future when a service is scheduled.

Cremation will take place at Terrazas Crematory.  Arrangements are with Terrazas Funeral Chapels and Crematory “Trust care for the ones you love” ~ 575-537-0777.  To send condolences, visit www.terrazasfuneralchapel.com.
