After earning their first conference win on Monday over UT -Permian Basin, the Mustangs returned home Thursday to take on St. Mary's. Keeping with Monday's momentum, Western defeated the visiting Rattlers in straight sets for their second straight win.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
WNMU jumped out to an 15-8 lead in the opening set, and never looked back on their way to a 25-18 win.
Set two was all WNMU again, taking a decisive lead.
St. Mary's would not go down without a fight, clawing back to get within two at 16-14.
The Mustangs however would go on to score nine points, while holding the Rattlers to only three more points in the set to go up 2-0 in the match.
The third set was point for point, up until late. WNMU would take 23-20 lead before SMU scored two to get within one. A kill from Erin Moss (Kailua, HI/University Laboratory School) and a mishandled ball on the Rattler's side gave WNMU the final set and the sweep.
