Critical fire conditions developing Tuesday afternoon... .A Pacific storm system will move across northern New Mexico Tuesday afternoon, bringing another round of strong winds across the area. Winds will be strong area wide but the mountain zones should see min relative humidities remain around 15 to 25 percent and remain a bit shy of Red Flag criteria. The winds should diminish mid to late evening on Tuesday.

WEST TEXAS...

The National Weather Service in El Paso Tx/Santa Teresa has
issued a Red Flag Warning, which is in effect from noon to 8 PM
MDT Tuesday.
* AFFECTED AREA...Southern New Mexico lowlands and far west Texas.

* HUMIDITY...9 to 14 percent.

* IMPACTS...any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.
Outdoor burning is not recommended.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.

* WIND...Winds mostly west 30 to 40 mph with gusts 55 mph.

*WHERE...Southwest New Mexico for wind advisory
•WHAT...For the Wind Advisory, west winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts
up to 55 mph expected. For the Blowing Dust Advisory, localized
areas with visibility between one quarter mile and one mile in
blowing dust expected.
* WHEN...For the Wind Advisory, from 11 AM to 7 PM MDT Tuesday.
For the Blowing Dust Advisory, from 2 PM to 7 PM MDT Tuesday.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Motorists should not drive into an area of blowing dust.
