CITY OF BAYARD
NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING

The City of Bayard, New Mexico, wishes to inform all interested parties that a public meeting will be held:

Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at
Bayard City Hall, 800 Central Avenue, Bayard, NM

The purpose of the meeting will be to discuss and to solicit input on possible 2017 Colonias Infrastructure Fund Applications within the City of Bayard. A Colonia is defined as a rural community with a population of 25,000 or less that is located within 150 miles of the U.S. -Mexico border and that has been designated as a Colonia by the (municipality/county) due to: a lack of potable water; or a lack of adequate sewage systems; or a lack of decent, safe and sanitary housing; and have been in existence prior to November 1990. The Colonias Infrastructure Act (ACT) was adopted in 2010, establishing a Colonias Infrastructure Board and dedicating 5% of the State's annual Senior Severance Tax Bond proceeds for a variety of infrastructure projects within the Colonias, including; Water, Wastewater, Solid Waste Disposal, Flood Control, Road or Housing projects.
