Grant County Art Guild is calling New Mexico Artists and inviting their entries in the 29th Annual Purchase Prize Award Exhibit. Four media categories of realistic paintings done in oils, acrylics watercolors and pastels are eligible for the show. The deadline for entry forms is August 4, 2014.

The theme for this popular show is "A Journey to Realism" and offers $1,500 as the grand "purchase prize" for the entry judged the "Best in Show." Other cash prizes are $200 for first place winners (other than the category from which the Best in Show was chosen), $100 for Most Popular and $200 for Award of Excellence.

Judging and reception will be on September 23, 2014, and the show will continue to hang at the Grant County Art Guild's Pinos Altos Art Gallery on Friday, Saturday and Sunday through October 5.
