Literacy Link - Leamos has recently hired a new Program Director and Office Manager.

Mary Beth Folia joined the program as Director in July. Folia, formerly of Albuquerque, taught Developmental English and tutored nontraditional students at Central New Mexico Community College in Albuquerque. She also taught English Composition and Creative Writing at the University of New Mexico.

Marilyn Berry, one of Literacy Link - Leamos's founding members, retired in June after 13 years with the organization. Initially a Board member and volunteer, she served as Office Manager many years.

Gail Adair Dunigan accepted the position of Office Manager in June. She brings over 30 years of experience in higher education to this staff position. Dunigan is a long-time Silver City resident, and her knowledge of the town, the Literacy Link - Leamos program, volunteers, tutors and learners has helped make the staff transition a smooth one.

Current and prospective tutors, volunteers, learners and anyone curious about the organization are invited to a "Meet N Greet" to meet the new staff members. The event will take place at Alotta Gelato, 619 N. Bullard Street in downtown Silver City, on Thursday, August 21 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
