Western New Mexico University head football coach Adam Clark announced the first round of recruits to sign with the Mustang football program on Friday. Over the next couple of weeks, more information will be released on each recruit, as well as more that have signed on to join the program.

"We are very pleased with our first group of commitments. We got some great players who will make a big impact in the RMAC over the next 4-5 years," Clark said. "The Mid-Year transfers who are already on campus will make us a better team immediately. Our last official visit weekend on Feb. 9 will allow us to finish assembling a very exciting recruiting class.”

Coach Clark expects several other players to commit to WNMU over the next few days including some players who are considering offers from D-I schools. WNMU has an edge over many CA schools due to the relatively inexpensive cost of an education at WNMU compared to schools such as University of San Diego.
