Silver City MainStreet would like to thank PNM for donating just under $24,000 for the Silco Theater Marquee fabrication and installation. MainStreet is hosting a public reception at the Silco Theater, 311 North Bullard Street in Silver City on Thursday, January 9 at 5:30. The short video, "The Making of a Marquee" will be shown. The reception will be the last public event at the Silco Theater prior to being closed for renovations beginning on January 13.

Governor Martinez announced the PNM partnership with MainStreet Communities in Albuquerque on December 18, 2013. Governor Martinez said, "Silver City, recognized as one of the best MainStreets in the country, has worked to foster a sense of community pride to improve the quality of life and the growth of small businesses. Silver City is now working to establish a theater district beginning with the renovation of the historic Silco Theater."
