5 Things You Might Not Know about the Gospel Mission Thrift Store

1. The Silver City Gospel Mission thrift store is open to the general public and not just those in need of the clothing bank.

We are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 am – 1:30 pm and are located in downtown Silver City at 111 S. Texas St (or the building with the large cross on top behind Jalisco’s Restaurant).

We carry a wide selection of new and used clothing, household goods, small appliances, books, electronics, jewelry and more!

2. Every dollar we make in the thrift store is put right back in to Mission operations

All profit in the store is used to keep the Mission open and goes right back in to feeding, clothing and sheltering Silver City’s needy.

Shopping here is a great way to help your neighbors or give a little bit back to your community.

3. We always accept your donations

We are always willing to accept your donations of clothing and household items during store hours.

And we pretty much take anything and everything if we have room for it (some items like beds, couches, etc we might not be able to fit in the store, but if you have one you'd like to donate we can take your phone number and if someone needs it, they can give you a call).

No need to call; just drop your items off anytime we are open and we will try and have someone around to help you bring them in.

4. We have dirt-cheap prices and often run special sales

All clothing like shoes, pants, coats, dresses, shirts, kids clothes and underwear are from .25 cents up to $2. Paperback books for .25 cents and hardbacks for .50 cents. Watches anywhere from $1-$5 and necklaces and rings ranging from .50 to a couple of bucks. Electronics, clocks, computer accessories, tv’s and radios range from .25 cents to around $10 for more expensive items.

And we often run $2 bag sales where you can fill a grocery-store sized bag with clothing for a couple of bucks (subscribe to our Facebook page or daily newsletter for special sales).

5. We price unique items at prices you can resell and make a profit

We have many re-sellers who shop our store and love the bargains we give them.

Sometimes we get unique items in like artwork, glassware and pottery, jewelry or books and always try and leave room for the next person to make a profit, either in their retail store, at a swap meet or yard sale or online.

And we are putting new items out on a daily basis, so our inventory is always fresh.
