Love Is Respect: A Community Response To Domestic Violence

 – 6:00pm

The public is invited free of charge to Western Institute for Lifelong Learning’s (WILL) special panel discussion that explores how our local community responds to and addresses domestic violence.  Featured panelists include District Attorney Francesca Martinez-Estevez, plus representatives from the Grant County Sheriff’s office, and El Refugio.  Please join us for this enlightening discussion.at WNMU’s Miller Library, 3rd floor Student Memorial Building, in Silver City.

NOTE: On March 31 and April 7, 2:00-4:00pm, a two-session WILL members only class: Court Watch Training For Grant County Family Court is scheduled.

New Mexico’S Century Of Leadership In Space Exploration – 6:00pm

The public is invited free of charge to this community program sponsored by Western Institute for Lifelong Learning (WILL).  Loretta Hall, author and Space Ambassador for the National Space Society, will share New Mexico’s crucial contributions to manned space flight since Robert Goddard arrived in Roswell in 1930.  Loretta’s award-winning book, Out of this World, will be available for sale and signing at this event.  WNMU’s Parotti Hall recital hall, behind the Fine Arts Center, in Silver City.

NOTE: On March 29, 9:30-11:00am, a one-session WILL members only class, Earth Sheltering For Sustainability, is scheduled.

One Day University - All Day

One Day University is back and better than ever!  This annual free program features a University experience with three WNMU faculty offering lectures in their field, accompanied by a cookout lunch and a post-lecture tour of Mustang Village with Matthew Lara.  Please go to the WILL website for more details on this program that highlights some of Western's most innovative and informative faculty. Artist Lecture Series – 6:30pm

Western Institute for Lifelong Learning (WILL), Mimbres Region Arts Council, and the WNMU Expressive Arts Department introduce Storyboard Artist and Director, Gary Trousdale, who gained prominence in his field with the success of his animated film directorial debut Beauty and the Beast.  He later directed The Hunchback of Notre Dame and Atlantis: The Lost Empire.  Gary will share his experienced at Disney, and more recently, at DreamWorks Animation.  WNMU’s Parotti Hall, behind the Fine Arts Center, in Silver City.  575-538-2505 or www.MimbresArts.org  or info@MimbresArts.org
