Six Gila Regional Registered Nurses have been nominated to be recognized for their nursing excellence. The registered nurses (RN) include: (pictured back row left to right) Peggy White, RN, from the Special Care Unit; Carmen Molina, RN, BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing) from Medical-Surgical Department; Monica Sedillo, RN, from Surgical Services; (pictured front row left to right) Mary Gruszka, RN, IBCLC (International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners) from the Maternal Child Department; Marsie Digman, RN, from Emergency Department; and (not pictured) Reggie Venderly, RN, from Behavioral Health Unit.

On October 11th the New Mexico Center for Nursing Excellence will announce the winners of the state Nursing Excellence Awards at a gala held in Albuquerque. Sedillo and Dignam will represent Gila Regional at the ceremony.

The NM Nursing Excellence awards recognize excellence in practice and leadership in multiple nursing specialty categories (i.e.: Emergency Nursing, Medical Surgical, Public Health, etc.). A winner from each category will be selected, as a means to celebrate the very best of the best in New Mexico Nursing.
