The Grant County Prospectors have set the dates for their legislative timeline for 2014/2015. The first event will be the Capital Outlay Workshop hosted by the Southwest New Mexico Council of Governments (SWNM COG) on October 22, 2014, at 10 a.m. held in the City Hall Annex, 2nd Floor Conference Room. To register for this free workshop, contact the COG office at 575-388-1509.

Applications to present at the Legislative Communications Forum will be available at the workshop. This forum provides an open dialogue between state lawmakers and the local governments, organizations, businesses and people who make up their districts. Presentations come from many sectors: Local Governments including water districts, Education, Healthcare, Non-Profit, and Regulatory Issues. Presentation applications are due by November 18th.

The Annual Legislative Communication Form will be held on Tuesday, December 2, starting at 8 am at the Western New Mexico University Global Resource Center Auditorium. From theses presentations the Prospectors Community Legislative Action Committee (CLAC) on December 8th will set the priorities to be included in an Issues of Concern brochure. The members of the Grant County Prospectors, forum presenters, business partners and community members will travel to Santa Fe for Grant County Days at the Legislature and Prospector Forum to be held on Wednesday, January 28, 2014.
