The Gila Regional Medical Center (GRMC) Auxiliary is proud to announce that fifteen applicants were awarded scholarships. The applicants are all accepted into an accredited professional health care program to achieve an Associate Degree of Nursing (ADN), Bachelor of Science (BSN), Master of Science (MSN) or a Health Management degree. Financial assistance for a total of $15,000 was awarded for the 2014-2015 academic year.
The majority of the applicants are attending Western New Mexico University with a few students attending New Mexico State University, University of Texas – El Paso, and Ashford University.

In July 1979, Alice Hamm Memorial Scholarship was established by the Hillcrest General Hospital Auxiliary, now called the GRMC Auxiliary. Alice Hamm was a Registered Nurse (R.N.) at Hillcrest General Hospital and this scholarship was designed to assist those individuals completing a RN program. In 1983, the program was extended to include License Practical Nurse (L.P.N.) programs. In 1984, other programs in health related fields were added to the scholarship criteria.

Requests to obtain a health related scholarship may be obtained through GRMC Human Resources. The GRMC Foundation also offers healthcare scholarships. For more information go online to http://www.grmc.org/Community/Scholarships.aspx.
