Silver City, NM January 28, 2015 - The Nuevos Comienzos Kitchen logo contest deadline is fast-approaching. A project of The Volunteer Center, Nuevos Comienzos Kitchen at The Commons is focused on building a healthy and viable food economy in Grant County through mentorship of potential food entrepreneurs, and creating sustainable local businesses.

So far, the response for the contest has been "very positive," kitchen manager Barb Fila says, "but we're waiting for that perfect logo which will be our trademark, something that everyone can identify with Nuevos Comienzos." Classes of the public schools, WNMU students, and the general public are all vying for the prize package valued at over $350. The deadline for the contest is February 4, 2015, and the winner will be announced by February 11, 2015. The prize package includes generous donations of art supplies from Syzygy Tile, Ginny Wolf Studio, Yada Yada Yarn, and Custom Steelworks, as well as a gift certificate from Leyba & Ingalls Arts.
