The Bayard Public Library will feature some noteworthy events during its summer reading program. The Program is being spearheaded by Mrs. Raven Hogan, a recent graduate (Master's) of Education at Western. The theme is Every Hero Has a Story!

The dates are June 2 through July 3, meeting from 10:30 to 12 noon every Tuesday through Friday.

On Friday June 5, Ralph Bakshi will join the group for a presentation on animation. He is the director of several animated feature films (Wizards) and (The Lord of the Rings). Bakshi also founded the Bakshi School of Animation and Cartooning.

On Tuesday, June 9, Dee Dee Wolf, of Wolfsong Sanctuary will bring a hybrid wolf and discuss her role in the rescue of them and her many other animals. She is a fabulous storyteller as well.

Local heroes will also attend: a veteran of the Vietnam War, Emergency Medical Personnel and, hopefully, a smokejumper.

The attendees to this year's program will also get to create a mural using storyboarding and their creative imaginations, to incorporate the "Hero Theme." Each day will feature "hands on" fun activities as well as reading and give-aways.
