Are you community-minded? Do you like to read books, magazines, use the internet, listen to free live music, or download ebooks, videos, or audiobooks? Do you like to win prizes - say, for instance, a $25 Amazon.com gift card? Can you squeeze 15 minutes out of your busy day?

If you answered yes to any of those questions, then the Silver City Public Library is looking for you! The Library is more than halfway to its goal of 1,000 responses to its community survey. The survey, which is available both online and in print, is a chance for residents to shape the future of Grant County's largest public library.

As of May 20th, more than 500 surveys have been completed either online or on paper. Every survey counts.

"We are so grateful to all of the people who have filled out the survey. We are less than 450 short of our goal," said library director Eileen Sullivan. "We would really love to hear from everyone in the community - even people who don't use the library. We want to be sure we're meeting the needs of all community members."

The survey will be available through June 1. It is available online at https://silvercitypubliclibrary.wordpress.com. You can also request a copy by emailing ref@silvercitymail.com or calling 575-538-3672. Paper copies are available at the Library (515 W. College Ave), Town Hall, Hidalgo Medical Services (HMS), and other locations.

If you've already taken the survey, you can still help. Ask a friend to take the survey, or pick up a business card with the survey URL (available at the library) and give it to a stranger. Make the library yours!

The survey is designed for individuals, since people living in the same household may have different interests in and needs from their library. The survey, which is anonymous, requires about 15 minutes to take. Everyone who completes the survey can enter a drawing for one of eight $25 Amazon.com gift cards.
