SILVER CITY, NM; Aug. 10, 2015 - For Immediate Release - The Gomez Peak group picnic area will be closed for construction beginning Wednesday Aug. 12. Work is scheduled to be completed Friday, Aug. 21, 2015 pending favorable weather during the project.

The project consists of removing concrete curbing and replacing portions of sidewalk to meet accessibility requirements. Work will also include creating additional accessible vehicle parking space, purchasing and installing a two-panel information kiosk, and installing reflective informational and directional signs. The goals of this project are to provide an Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant facility and better service at this recreation site.
