The October Community Forum will be a workshop on mediation. This free program will be presented Thursday, October 8, 2015, from 12 noon to 1 pm at the Market Café located at 614 N. Bullard St.

The community forum titled, Meditation Made Easy, will help attendees learn how to mediate. More and more, the world is coming to recognize the emotional and physical benefits of meditation. However, for many of us, having a beneficial meditation is easier said than done.

Jeff Goin, a volunteer meditation instructor at Lotus Center, has devoted himself to making meditation accessible and enjoyable for everyone . . . both experienced meditators and those who aren't sure they know what it means to meditate. In this forum, Jeff will provide practical, easy-to-practice instruction on how to meditate and how to maintain an ongoing meditation practice.

Jeff has been teaching and leading non-denominational meditation in Silver City, on a volunteer basis, since 2008. His classes provide practical ideas and methods for improving relationships, overcoming anger, dealing with stress and, in general, establishing and maintaining a peaceful state of mind.

Jeff is a co-founder of Single Socks, a non-profit thrift store in Silver City that donates hundreds of thousands of dollars to anti-hunger programs in Grant County, New Mexico. He is a professional clinical hypnotherapist and a practicing Mahayana Buddhist.

This free program will be held in the community room at the Market Café, located at 614 N. Bullard St.
