The New Mexico Beekeepers Association (NMBKA) and the Grant County Extension Service are sponsoring a basic beekeeping workshop, including information on plants for bees, swarm prevention, and - for a limited number - a hands-on beehive experience.

On Saturday, October 24 at the Grant County Extension Office (2610 N. Silver St., Silver City, 88061) the workshop will run from 10 to noon, with the hands-on portion from 1 to 3. Experienced and beginning beekeepers in the Silver City area are welcome to attend.

For experienced beekeepers, Jessie Brown, NMBKA President, will have a listening session to explore how NMBKA might work with Grant County Extension and local beekeepers to provide additional support on Friday, October 23, from 3-5 pm at the same location.
