Catalina Claussen is looking forward to many opportunities to connect with readers, teachers, and librarians all across the state about her book, Diamonds at Dusk.

On Saturday, April 16 she will travel to Albuquerque to teach teachers about developing activities that align with Common Core Standards as part of the Society for Children's Book Writers and Illlustrators (SCBWI) BookFair. After teaching, she will read from Diamonds at Dusk and be available for a book signing. This event begins at 1 p.m. at Barnes and Noble, 6600 Menaul Blvd.

Then, it's back home to Grant County with a reading at the Bayard Public Library on Saturday, April 23 at 1 p.m. This reading is truly special, she said, because she was invited by local poet Raven Drake to participate. "I will be reading the poems I shared at the Gila River Symposium and an excerpt from Diamonds at Dusk. This event is also followed by a book signing where copies will be available for $12."

Then in May, she and her daughter, Ajalaa, will be hosting a book release bash at Javalina Coffee House, celebrating her cover art as well as the novel. She will put on her first photography show featuring the three images on the cover. The show will hang May 18-25. On Saturday, May 21 at 4 p.m. they will read and host a reception. There will be door prizes including the chance to win one of 3 signed copies and a set of cards featuring Ajalaa's original photos. And they will both be available to sign books. Again books will be on sale for the local price of $12.

On Tuesday, May 24 from 4:30- 5:30 p.m. the Silver City Public Library will host a reading of Diamonds at Dusk and once again she will be available to sign copies.
