The Unitarian/Universalist Fellowship of Silver City will host Life Line Screening, a leading provider of affordable, community-based preventive health screenings on Monday, May 23. Life Line will be offering a package of five screenings that scan for potential health problems related to: blocked arteries that are a leading cause of stroke; abdominal aortic aneurysms that can lead to a ruptured aorta; hardening of the arteries in the legs, which is a strong predictor of heart disease; atrial fibrillation or irregular heartbeat, which is closely tied to stroke risk; and a bone density screening for men and women, used to assess the risk of osteoporosis.

All of these screenings are non-invasive and painless and all can be completed in approximately 60-90 minutes. According to Life Line Screening, they are particularly recommended for people who have high cholesterol or high blood pressure, have family members who have suffered from these ailments, and/or who have a poor diet.

The cost for the entire wellness package, which includes four vascular tests and osteoporosis screening, is $149 ($139 with member discount). In order to register for this event and to receive a $10 discount off any package priced above $129, please call 1-888-653-6441 or visit www.lifelinescreening.com/community-partners.
