This morning at 09:15, Mike shriver, Catron County emergency manager, said he received a phone call from Brian Williams with NM Dept. of Homeland Security & Emergency Management in Santa Fe. He had been given a copy of a newspaper article from Grant County. Williams had been contacted by Dara Parker who is a representative from Senator Martin Heinrich's office.

"Williams wanted to assure the citizens in the Glenwood area that he is diligently working to address the sensor issue," Shriver wrote. "He is looking at various options and wanted to assure that the department will not willingly put any citizens at risk. He wanted folks to know that public safety is a primary concern and that no decision will be made until all concerned have had an opportunity to have imput.

"I will continue to be working with Mr. Williams and will keep you all updated," Shriver concluded
