(September 28, 2011 Albuquerque, NM) USDA Rural Development State Director Terry Brunner will present two certificates of obligation to Rio Valley Biofuels during this week's Renewable Energy and Clean Technology Conference in Las Cruces

 The presentation to Rio Valley Biofuels during the conference will highlight USDA Rural Development's financial support for businesses, farms, and ranches that want to take advantage of alternative fuel sources. The conference was organized to provide information about accessing financial support to fund alternative energy projects.

Earlier this week USDA announced that Rio Valley Bio Fuels was one of a 160 producers in 41 states across the nation that will be receiving financial support from USDA Rural Development to continue the production and expansion of advanced bio fuels.

Rio Valley Biofuels is receiving two awards for a total of $40,972 to expand its production of biodiesel from waste vegetable oil.  Currently, the company produces 500 to 1,000 gallons of biodiesel each day. The key ingredient to make the biodiesel comes from used vegetable oil acquired from a tortilla facility near El Paso, Texas. The biodiesel made by Rio Valley Bio Fuels is a completely biodegradable product that does not have any hydrocarbons like petroleum-based fuels, completely decomposes within 10 days and will not contaminate the ground water.
