Ann McMahonAnn McMahon will be at the Silver City Museum Annex on Saturday, August 6, 2016, from noon to 1 pm to present her outstanding photographs and insights on Documenting the Disappearing Mining Landscape of Grant County, New Mexico. Her canvas prints have won awards regionally, and her work was featured in an acclaimed exhibit in the fall of 2015 at the Branigan Cultural Center in Las Cruces, NM.

Presenter: Ann McMahon has been an awarded professional photographer for 44+ years. She began this work with mining photos when she toured a mine led by Terry Humble, a retired miner. Because of his enthusiasm, McMahon wrote an article for the Desert Exposure newspaper about him and his book Santa Rita del Cobre (available in the Museum Gift Shop). Thus began an association to help protect mining history.

She lives in Silver City and has canvas prints available at Tree Spirit Gallery and online at www.AnnMcMahon.com.
