Forest Plan Revision update
The Regional Office has completed their internal review of the Gila NF draft assessment report. The Gila NF planning team is now making some adjustments to the document based on the internal review recommendations. The Gila National Forest expects to release the draft assessment report for public/stakeholder feedback in late summer/early fall. After the draft is released, we will have more community meetings in fall 2016 to discuss key assessment findings and collaborate to determine needs-for-change to the 1986 Gila Forest Plan.

We are very pleased to announce that Eric Flood has now officially started as the Recreation/Social/Economics Specialist position on the core planning team for the Gila Forest Plan Revision. Eric was the District Recreation Staff Officer on the Alpine District on the Apache-Sitgreaves NFs in Arizona, and brings a wealth of experience to our Forest. He has an extensive background in administering minerals, lands, recreation, wilderness, trails, and special uses programs. Welcome Eric!

The Forest will continue to update information on the plan revision process on the Forest's web site at http://go.usa.gov/h88k.
