The Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Silver City, 3845 N. Swan Street, November 27, 10 am. "Defying Hate" -- Ron Gabioud will moderate this "Guest at Your Table" program which encourages participants to reach out to marginalized groups to help protect the lives and rights of others by contributing to the Unitarian Universalist Service Committee. This annual intergenerational program raises support for and awareness about the Committee's work to advance human rights. The UUSC was founded in 1939 to rescue victims of Nazi persecution. Given the recent release of the Ken Burn's documentary "Defying the Nazis: The Sharps' War" and the unprecedented number of refugees and asylum seekers fleeing violence, political crisis and natural disaster, this year's program highlights UUSC's work to protect human rights in the face of hate, Islamophobia, and other forms of bigotry. There will be coffee and conversation after the service.
