April 13, 2017 (Silver City, NM) - The Tour of the Gila and Giving Tree Media presents a special screening of THEREABOUTS 3: Discovering Colombia, a film by WhereNext in collaboration with our 2016 champion Lachlan Morton and his brother, Gus Morton. The screening will take place Friday, April 21 at 6 PM, following the Tyrone Time Trial that morning, at Parotti Recital Hall in downtown Silver City.

THEREABOUTS 3 beautifully captures Gus and Lachlan exploring the cycling culture and incredible terrain of Colombia, that has produced some of the best climbers in road cycling.

The brothers joined forces together in 2016 on Jelly Belly Pro Cycling p/b MAXXIS, which saw Lachlan win the Tour of the Gila beginning with a dramatic finish on Mogollon, followed by an incredible victory at the Larry H. Miller Tour of Utah. The incredible season was capped by Lachlan's return to the WorldTour level with Team Dimension Data in 2017.

Following the screening, a special Q&A event will take place with Gus Morton, hosted by our own race announcer, Dave Towle. Gus will be answering questions about his experience riding in Colombia and the culture and cyclists they discovered along the way.

Entry is by donation. The filmmakers have chosen to raise money for the Qhubeka Foundation of Africa, which gives bicycles in return for work done to improve communities, the environment, or academic results. Tour of the Gila has pledged to raise $1,000.

All proceeds will go to the Qhubeka Foundation. Cash donations will be taken at the door while a GoFundMe page has been created for those interested in donating but unable to attend.

About The Tour of the Gila

The Tour of the Gila takes place in and around Silver City, New Mexico and consists of road race stages, an individual time trial, and a criterium. Stage 1 for the 5-day race, is a point-to-point road race en route to the ghost town of Mogollon. The criterium is held in downtown Silver City with high speeds, 90-degree turns and a brutal climb to weed out the weak. The iconic GÇ£Gila MonsterGÇ¥ road race's final climbing stage ends with a climb up to the tiny enclave of Pinos Altos, nestled in the Gila National Forest. www.tourofthegila.com
