rebecca dowRebecca DowTRUTH OR CONSEQUENCES, NM—Today Rep. Rebecca Dow (R-Grant, Hidalgo, and Sierra) announced the launch of a backpack drive for New Mexico's kids. Dow is partnering with Molina Healthcare on this effort to provide new backpacks to deserving students near the communities of Silver City and Virden.

“Every child deserves to start the new school year excited and ready to learn. For some families in our community, the start of a new school year is a time of stress as they struggle to make ends meet on a tight budget, said Dow. “Providing new backpacks allows us to support students as they go back to school. I appreciate Molina Healthcare's understanding of the broader definition of child health and well-being and their willingness to support this effort.

Molina Healthcare has pledged to match the number of backpacks donated in Silver City and Virden, up to 100 backpacks. Residents can drop-off their backpack donations at the following locations:

• Silver City Public Library,  515 W College Ave, Silver City, NM 88061
• Virden Town Office, 110 Richmond Ave, Virden, NM 88045-8008

Donations will be accepted now through Friday, August 4, 2017.
