hurley pride car show rsSet for May 12, with opening ceremonies at 10:00 a.m., Judges Tommy Rueda, Alex Alvarez and returning Hurley Native, Rylan Phillips will begin the fun – yet difficult – process of judging entrant's vehicles located at the A St. Park in Hurley next to the swimming pool.

Mr. Rueda and Mr. Alvarez have more than ten years combined experience and currently run the shop, X-Caliber Collison. Mr. Phillips has recently graduated from Auto Body School and hopes to one day put out his shingle. The mixture of experience could be illuminating. Discipline is coming in this year as the Judges will have scoring sheets tallying points in Exterior, Interior, Mechanical, Concept and more, totaling no more than 70 points possible. The Pride felt it was, "Time to start growing up."

Trophies in the 17 categories will be awarded at 2:00 p.m. with raffles provided by sponsors throughout the day. With so many categories, there is room for everyone. "If it has a motor and wheels, we can put it in the show," said Tammy Gonzalez.

The annual festival and car show is a family friendly event with free admission for spectators. Good food, good music and great vehicles to adore; Proving it's not a waste of time to rebuild. It's a great way to spend the day with your community! For more information, call 575-956-3535 or e-mail hpc88043@gmail.com
