Pictured is a float from a previous Lighted Christmas Parade.The holiday season will begin with the 29th Annual Lighted Christmas Parade in downtown Silver City. The Lighted Christmas Parade will be held on Saturday, November 30, 2019 at 7 pm.  This year there is not a theme, to make it easier for groups to participate. This holiday community event is sponsored by Silver City MainStreet and the Town of Silver City.  

“The parade is a twenty-nine year long tradition in Silver City and it is a great way to promote your business or organization while giving back to the community, states Patrick Hoskins, Board President of Silver City MainStreet. Children and families love the parade and we are seeking new float entries for this year.

Awards will be given immediately after the parade at the Little Toad Creek. Floats will be judged for child appeal, lighting, and originality. 

In addition to the parade, there will be a horse drawn wagon to take shoppers around downtown Friday and Saturday, November 29 and 30 sponsored by the Town of Silver City. It is also Shop Small Saturday and Silver City MainStreet will host a welcome station at The Hub. Shop Small totes will be given out and many downtown merchants will be offering discounts, deals and free drawings. It’s a great weekend to shop locally and have fun with your family and out of town guests.

Silver City MainStreet provides the downtown holiday decorations and with the help of volunteers, decorates downtown each year. MainStreet is again hosting a merchant window decoration contest, so it will be even more fun for children and families to come downtown.”
