The Silver City Arts & Cultural District was awarded $40,000 from the State of New Mexico Department of Tourism for the 2012-2013 Cooperative Marketing Grant program.

The Cooperative Marketing Program is an avenue for New Mexico non-profit, tourism-related organizations, local and tribal governments to apply for grant funds from the Department. Awarded funds can be used toward direct marketing costs such as electronic, print and outdoor advertising and the production and placement of them.

This is the 2nd consecutive award to the Silver City ACD for their “Find Your SELFin Silver City campaign which utilizes local talent and photographers in their tourism related promotions.
According to Julie Minicucci, Director of the Silver City ACD & Tourism Director, “Feedback from the Tourism Department included conversations with State Tourism staff who feel that 'The Silver City ACD's alignment with the State of NM Tourism Department's recently launched “Adventure Steeped in Culture Campaign” and NM True branding played a factor in the grant award.' Our ads are developed with the State's philosophy in mind, yet we try to include local flair while featuring our best assets.”
