August 21, at 10:00 am, 3845 North Swan Street  – “UUA General Assembly: First-time Delegates’ Experiences”

Carlos and Linda Price will talk about their experiences at this year’s General Assembly held last month in Portland, Oregon. The Prices represented UUF Silver City as delegates at the 2022 Unitarian Universalist General Assembly in Portland, Oregon this summer and will share highlights of the conference and their impressions as first-time attendees.

The General Assembly is the annual meeting of the Unitarian Universalist Association. The delegates give direction to the board and leadership on issues ranging from regular procedural policies to theological and social directions for the future.

They were active in the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Galveston County prior to joining UUF Silver City. Linda holds a B.S. in Elementary Education from the University of Memphis with additional training in Reading Recovery and Dyslexia education. She retired from La Marque Independent School District as a dyslexia specialist. Carlos holds a Doctor of Education degree from the University of Memphis. He was a teacher and spent 27 years as a school administrator including 19 years as a district superintendent before joining the graduate school of education faculty of the University of Houston Clear Lake. He taught in the Master and Doctoral degree programs in Educational Leadership specializing in school finance courses before retiring in 2014.
