TRUTH OR CONSEQUENCES, NM, March 3, 2023 – The Gila National Forest, Black Range District office will be open with limited services Monday, March 6, due to staff participating in training. The Wilderness Ranger District office in Mimbres also remains closed while a contractor wraps up interior renovations.

“Our doors will be open so that we can respond to questions from visitors and callers, however, we will not have any staff on hand who can sell maps or permits” said Acting Black Range District Ranger Jim Apodaca. “Maps and permits can be purchased at the Silver City Ranger District – we regret any inconvenience to our customers.”
