William Norris will be the Rotary speaker on May 2, 2023. His Topic: “City of Rocks.” He is the Vice-President of the Society of Friends of the City of Rocks, and is a charter member of the Society. Norris has visited the City of Rocks many times since 2004, often accompanied by students and friends while collecting plant inventory. 

His co-presenter will be Timothy H. Geddes, President Emeritus, Friends of the City of Rocks State Park.

"City of Rocks State Park: A Crown Jewel in the NM State Park System," by William (Bill) Norris and Timothy (Tim) Geddes.

“Bill and Tim will provide an overview of City of Rocks State Park that touches on its establishment in 1952 and subsequent land acquisition, park geology and biology, and finally the work of the Friends of City of Rocks to support park operations.”

Norris is the Curator of the Department of Natural Sciences at WNMU. As a faculty member at WNMU. Norris teaches Botany and Ornithology.

Change of venue: the Rotary meeting will meet at the Silver Bowling Center, 2020 Memory Lane, in the 10th Frame Lounge. The meeting is from 12 noon to 1 p.m. Meetings are open to the public.
