Forest Supervisor seeks public engagement and communication

SILVER CITY, NM, June 22, 2023 – The Gila National Forest is hosting another round of “Coffee with Camille”, this time in Reserve, New Mexico on Thursday, July 6 from 10:00 a.m. to noon. The event will be hosted at the Reserve Ranger District office at 5 Smokey Bear Circle.

“I highly value these opportunities to engage with members of the communities with whom the Gila National Forest is codependent. With each conversation, I learn more about the background and context of issues that affect all of us,” said Camille Howes, Gila National Forest Supervisor. “I firmly believe that if we can come together for civil conversation over coffee, we can build better relationships and increase opportunities to find collaborative, mutually beneficial solutions to the issues and concerns we all face together.”

“Coffee with Camille” is an open forum opportunity to meet and engage with the Gila National Forest Supervisor, Camille Howes, and other forest staff, and for members of the public to discuss topics of their interest and concern. The forest will continue to host these events on a recurring basis, with the location and frequency to be determined by the level of public interest, staff scheduling, and current events.

Please join us from 10:00 a.m. to noon on Thursday, July 6, at the Reserve Ranger District office, 5 Smokey Bear Circle, Reserve, New Mexico. Please contact Maribeth Pecotte at 575-388-8211 or by email at Maribeth.Pecotte@usda.gov for more information.
