Because of the generosity of the Jane Elise Hendricks Charitable Trust, the McCune Foundation, and the Town of Silver City, the Grant County Community Foundation will offer a 2-day Capacity Building Conference for Nonprofits on Thursday and Friday, 21 and 22 September 2023.

The conference will take place for two full days in downtown Silver City, and is open to all nonprofit representatives who wish to attend. So far, we will have workshops on Board best practices; Financial Foundations that will cover financial reports and nonprofit finance; Accounting Tactics that will cover the Dos and Don'ts of nonprofit accounting; Self-Care for Leaders; Volunteer Management and a potential new database for it; Communications and Media; Marketing and Social Media; a Grant-writing Q&A panel; and anything else we can squeeze into the tight schedule.

We will begin each day with coffee and pastries, provide a simple lunch, and will end with a celebratory party on Friday evening at the Silver City Museum (probably outside). One or two representatives from McCune Foundation will attend one of the days, so this is a great opportunity to meet a funder with a commitment to serving rural New Mexico and with whom we have a strong relationship.

While the conference is free to all nonprofit personnel, we are asking for a small registration fee (a sliding scale in the region of $25-$50 per person).

If you are interested in attending, please let us know as soon as possible by emailing bernadette@grantcountycommunityfoundation.org  or calling 575-956-6095 and leaving a message.
