Limited services at Wilderness District office Friday, September 29

No map, permit, or other product sales available after 3:00 p.m.

SILVER CITY, NM, Sept 28, 2023 – The Gila National Forest, Wilderness Ranger District will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 29. However, there will not be staff available who are designated as collection officers to make sales of passes, permits, maps, or other products.

“Our doors will be open and we will be available to answer questions,” said Wilderness District Ranger Henry Provencio. “We have a vacancy at our front desk that we would love to fill with a local resident who cares about the forest and enjoys talking with and serving customers.”

If you need to do business with the Wilderness Ranger District Friday, Sept. 29, please do so earlier in the day so that unavailability of our front desk staff doesn’t interrupt fulfillment of your needs.
