On Tuesday, November 28, 2023, Richard Haas, Rotary District 5520 Governor for 2023-2024, will speak to the Rotary club.
Topic: “What’s Happening in our District.”

The venue will be the WNMU Sunset Room, Second Floor of the Student Memorial Building, from 12-1 p.m. The meeting is free and open to the public. If lunch is desired, please pay the cashier ($10.75) and go through the cafeteria line.

Haas joined the Rio Grande Rotary club in 2010, and has held numerous positions being involved in service projects. He was raised in the Texas hill country; after receiving a degree in architecture, he practiced architecture in Denver, Austin, San Antonio, Sante Fe, and for the past 27 years in Las Cruces.

Haas and his wife Susan have been married 43 years, have a son and a daughter, and seven grandchildren. She earned a degree in nursing from NMSU after retiring from the US Postal Service, and works as a Registered Nurse in Las Cruces.

Since its founding in 1923, the Silver City Rotary Club has provided support and service to numerous non-profit organizations and civic causes in Silver City and Grant County as well as supporting and participating in humanitarian projects sponsored by Rotary International.
